Ace Ducati racing star is all praise for Dubai circuit after the UAE Sportbike Championship

After the recently concluded UAE Superbike Championship, top Ducati racing star Dario Marchetti had only good words to say about the Dubai circuit. The dynamic Italian, who has numerous titles to his credit, ranks the Dubai circuit alongside the world’s best circuits like the tracks in Daytona and Philip Island.

Marchetti finished third in the 1000cc class, which was his first race and then enjoyed a better result during the second race, finishing third overall and second in his class behind Abdulaziz Bin Laden. Marchetti was racing on a stock Ducati 1199 Panigale R and both he and Ducati UAE were happy with the results, which proved the capabilities of the stock street homologated Ducati 1199 Panigale R. Another rider, Joe Oxley, also performed outstandingly and delivered one of his best rides ever on his 848 Ducati, making it a remarkable day for Ducati overall.

Marchetti lavished praises on the Dubai circuit and says, “I’ve raced on some of the greatest tracks in the world, such as Daytona, Phillip Island and Brno, and I can tell you that the Autodrome ranks up there with the best of them. The track was great, the bike was great and the races were extremely competitive. I really enjoyed the experience and would like to come back and race the longer Grand Prix course.”

Marchetti has various awards to his credit, including various national titles – the Italian Endurance Championship in 2001, the Battle of the Twins race at Daytona in 2004 and the European Championship later that same year.

Ducati, which was founded in 1926, has been producing sport-inspired motorcycles since 1946. They are sold in over eighty countries around the world.
