Oscar winning actress Nicole Kidman was in Vienna recently to launch Omega’s new watch models in its Ladymatic collection and to unveil the global advertising campaign for the collection. Nicole Kidman has been the face of the Ladymatic collection worldwide ever since its international debut in 2010.
The new Ladymatic collection, with a combination of the innovative watchmaking skills of Omega and fashion-forward design, featuring bold and attractive dials, has become even more exquisite. Each of these striking Omega Ladymatic timepieces has a 34mm polished stainless steel case with white, black or rose ceramic between the decorative wave and inner case body. Each is presented on either a matching satin-brushed leather strap or a polished stainless steel bracelet.
The Ladymatic dial, with its enchanting Supernova pattern, is made even more brilliant with 11 diamond-set indices in facetted 18k white gold diamond-shaped holders. The polished case back of each stylish piece features a sapphire crystal, offering a clear view of the Omega Co-Axial calibre 8520 within. The polished alpha-shaped minute, hour and seconds hands are crafted from 18k white gold and the minute and hour hands are coated with white Super-LumiNova.
The venue for the event, Gartenpalais Liechtenstein, was opulently lit with decorative projections, which included the brand’s iconic Omega logo and images from the latest Ladymatic advertising campaign. The evening started off with a standing cocktail party in the palace, with elaborate decorations and real trees that gave the ambiance of an enchanted forest. The guests then enjoyed a choreographed dance performance, while seated at an upstairs dining room.
Nicole Kidman entered the party wearing an embellished, sheer Oscar de la Renta gown. Omega’s President Stephen Urquhart welcomed the more than 250 invited guests as well as members of the international media. Austrian/German actor Maximilian Simonischek served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening. Australian singer Shelley Harland performed her original songs, including ‘In the Dark,’ the song selected as the soundtrack for the Omega Ladymatic commercial.
Nicole Kidman began her film career in 1983. Her performance as Virginia Woolf in the 2002 drama film ‘The Hours’ received critical acclaim and earned Kidman the Academy Award for Best Actress. She has been a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF since 1994 and for UNIFEM since 2006. Kidman’s work has earned her a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, three Golden Globe Awards and one BAFTA, apart from the Academy Award. In 2006, Kidman was made a Companion of the Order of Australia and was also the highest-paid actress in the motion picture industry that year.
