Since its launch in 1981, the Carolina Herrera New York brand has been carried at Neiman Marcus. As part of the celebration of Carolina Herrera’s 35th Anniversary, she has been selected as the honored guest designer for the Crystal Charity Ten Best Dressed Fashion Show and Luncheon, where her Resort 2016 Collection will walk the runway. To honor Carolina Herrera’s longstanding legacy, Neiman Marcus Group CEO, Karen Katz will be honoring the designer with The Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion prior to the formal runway show.
Created in 1938 by Stanley Marcus, son of Neiman Marcus co-founder Herbert Marcus, award brings public awareness to those who have made a distinct contribution to the world of fashion by designing, promoting, or wearing fashion in a way that influences the public.
More than 100 luminaries have received The Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion since its inception. Past honorees include HSH the Princess Grace of Monaco, Estée Lauder, Coco Chanel, The Artisans of Baccarat, Oscar de la Renta, Giorgio Armani, and Miuccia Prada. Stanley Marcus won the Award in 1995 at a Neiman Marcus gala in Dallas celebrating his ninetieth birthday. The Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion predates The Cody American Fashion Critics’ Award.
