IWC Schaffhausen and Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons opens new boutique in the Middle East

IWC Schaffhausen and retail partner Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons announce the opening of the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer’s newest boutique in the Middle East, located at the iconic Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. The event was marked with a ribbon-cutting cere- mony. To celebrate the new opening, a special Pilot’s Watch exhibition will be on display in the boutique from 16 to 22 October, introducing watch lovers to the world of IWC’s Pilot’s Watches.

The new IWC boutique in the Mall of the Emirates is a premium shopping space devoted entirely to IWC’s fine watches. Luxurious flooring and an alluring entrance draw visitors into the world of IWC, while clean lines and warm colours highlight the brand’s six different product families.

Luc Rochereau, Regional Brand Director of IWC Schaffhausen says “The opening is in line with our expansion plans for the Middle East and has only been possible thanks to the strong alliance with our retail partner in Dubai, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons. It is the first boutique in the region to showcase our new international boutique concept and offers watch connoisseurs a luxurious shopping experience”

Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, COO of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons says “We are honoured to be a retail partner of IWC Schaffhausen. The brand carries cutting-edge designs yet never lets go of its rich heritage. We will provide connoisseurs of IWC watches with a striking collection in a quiet and elegant setting.”

With 2016 being the year of the Pilot’s Watch, a special emphasis is placed on this popular product line. Visitors can discover the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Antoine de Saint Exupéry” which is IWC’s latest homage to the French author and aviation pioneer. The complicated timepiece features a to- bacco brown dial and a calfskin strap reminiscent of Saint-Exupéry’s flying suit. The perpetual calendar dis- plays the day, date, month and year without the need for any manual adjustments until the year 2100. The time- piece is powered by the IWC-manufactured 52610 calibre and limited to 750 pieces.

Another highlight on display at the new boutique is the Big Pilot’s Watch Annual Calendar Edition “Le Petit Prince” which marks IWC’s first integration of the annual calendar complication into a Pilot’s Watch. The solid gold rotor of the Pellaton automatic winding system revolves eccentrically around its axis and shows the little prince – the main character of Saint-Exupéry’s famous novel – standing on his asteroid and gazing at the stars. The 18-carat red gold watch is powered by the IWC manufactured 52850 calibre and limited to just 250 pieces.

As an ecologically and socially responsible company, IWC is committed to sustainable production, supports in- stitutions around the globe in their work with children and young people, and maintains partnerships with organiza- tions dedicated to climate and environmental protection.
